Got a killer short story that you'd like to get out there?
I am calling for submissions of crime short stories from Australian authors. It doesn't matter whether you write detective mysteries, thrillers, hardboiled, noir or cosy stories, I'm keen to publish your story here. Seeing as this is the Australian Crime Fiction Database, I am only accepting submissions from Australian or Australian-based authors.
The aim is to produce a quarterly magazine exhibiting a feast of Australian short crime fiction. Obviously, the regularity of the publication will depend on the availability of material.
Unfortunately, there is no provision to pay for your story, but hopefully, the exposure coming from getting your story published and noticed will make it worthwhile.
I'm after short stories with a maximum length of around 10,000 words.
By submitting your short story you will be consenting to allow us one-time publishing rights to the story with the rights reverting back to the author on publication. You are also guaranteeing that you are the owner of that story.
When you email your story, could you please:
As confirmation that your story has been received, a confirmation email will be returned to you containing a rough guide as to when it will be published.
The goal is for Australian authors to get greater exposure and, who knows, unknown authors to be "discovered" as a result.
